What do clinical psychologists do? How are they different from counsellors or psychotherapists?

Clinical psychologists undergo doctoral-level training to provide therapy using a variety of approaches or therapeutic models including; psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), family therapy and trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR.  I use an integrative approach when working with people, drawing on these various models to support the person I am working with. Counsellors and therapists are usually well trained professionals, but typically practise using one key approach/model.
